I came across this one on Reverb. Since it wasn’t a guitar I’d ever seen in Paul Stanley’s hands — despite it being a Preacher — I had no intention of buying it. Still, I kept looking it up again and again, because I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
In the end I made an offer. I received a counteroffer and accepted it. During my conversations with the seller, it turned out I had bought one of the most special guitars in my collection.
Only eight of this particular model were ever produced by Boogie Street Guitars. Eric McKenna of BSG had told him that number 4 of 8 — mine — was built specifically for Paul Stanley and was actually sent to him. But because Paul was in the process of dissolving his contract with Washburn at the time, the guitar was sent back by his guitar tech. So the one I own has been in Paul Stanley’s own hands.
