I built this one from an Eagle One. The original is a repaint of Paul Stanley’s Asylum Eagle (formerly the Leopard Eagle). The Eagle One is a bolt-on construction, so that differs from the original.

I bought the Eagle One around 2016 with the intention of customising it into a KISS Eagle, but I’d never got round to it. I had the neck and headstock sprayed black and the body wrapped. Beautiful result.

Luckily I came across a website called Kissaxeology, which also has an Instagram account. That’s where I could find everything about Paul’s guitars. That’s how I discovered that this Eagle has a Leo Quan chrome bridge with a Leo Quan gold fine-tuning tailpiece, an EMG 81 bridge pickup and Grover Imperial tuners.

I removed the knobs, kept one, and covered the holes with small reflectors — exactly the way Paul’s looked. Someone has already come forward wanting to buy it, but I’m not there yet. It’s going to come to around €2,000 anyway, what with the wrapping, the high-quality spray work, the hardware I bought and the hours that went into it.
